At the age of nine, he performed at the South Bank and Barbican Centres as guest of the LSO, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. The Daily Telegraph hailed him as: "a musical prodigy of quite exceptional gifts".

After a year of study at Rome's "Santa Cecilia" Conservatoire, he moved to London in 1992, to study at the Purcell School of Music. In between 1992 and 1997, he played at the Barbican Hall, as part of a chamber group of students selected from across the globe to compose variations on "Notations" by Pierre Boulez, the concert having been played in M. Boulez's own presence. He also played at the Purcell Room, and made recordings of Bach and Paganini for ITV and the BBC respectively. At the age of 15, he obtained the Licentiate of the Royal School of Music (LRSM) Diploma (performance: violin).

In 1997, he started violin studies at the Royal Academy of Music, studying first with Jean Harvey FRAM, then with Erich Gruenberg OBE. He led the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra in a masterclass under Kurt Masur, and in concert, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, under Ilan Volkov. He was also first violin and co-leader of the European Union Youth Orchestra, where he worked under the batons of Bernard Haitink KBE, Sir Colin Davis, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Gennadi Rozhdestvensky amongst others, and with soloists such as Catherine Wyn-Rogers, Sara Mingardo, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Radu Lupu. He has also played under the batons of Sir Charles Mackerras, George Hurst, Colin Metters, Edward Gardner, Andre de Ridder, Ludovic Morlot, and more. He founded the Vivace Chamber Music Ensemble [with Chiao-Ying Chang (piano), and former EUYO principals Vassilis Saitis (cello), Matthew Midgley (double bass), and Michelle Bruil (viola)], and participated in the Prussia Cove masterclasses with the Ensemble, under the tutelage of Gyorgy Sibok. The ensemble also worked with John Suchet as part of his Beethoven lecture series.Vlad also won 2nd prize in the RAM Beethoven Violin Concerto Competition, and took part in Masterclasses with Zahkar Bron, Ruggiero Ricci, Igor Ozim, Maurice Hasson and many more.

Vlad held his first conducting post in 2001, as Assistant Conductor for the Opera Holland Park/Royal Philharmonic Orchestra production of "La Traviata" (Anne-Sophie Duprels as "Violetta", Colin Lee as "Alfredo", Richard Lloyd-Morgan/Roderick Earle as "Germont").

Vlad now works as a freelance musician, as a soloist, orchestra leader, and orchestra first violin section player. His solo performances have taken him to many respected venues, and he has played orchestrally at Cadogan Hall, St. John's Smith Square and the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
